Junior Designer, Intern Architect AIBC

Shakun is a Junior Designer with over 4 years of multidisciplinary experience in architecture, landscape architecture, urban design and planning. Her experience includes architectural and public space design and planning, preparation of construction drawings, project coordination with consultants, clients and contractors for both public and private sector projects, including mid-rise and high-rise residential developments, mixed-use communities and streetscapes.

Shakun received her Bachelor of Architecture Degree in her hometown of Chandigarh, India – a city planned by Le Corbusier – where she worked for three years as a registered architect before relocating to Canada to complete a Master’s Degree in Urban Design at the University of British Columbia.

Shakun has an inquisitive nature and strong interest in sustainability, green infrastructure and planning policies. She is an Intern Architect with the AIBC and is eligible for membership in the PIBC. She holds LEED GA and ASSTTBC AScT accreditations, and is currently working towards her project and construction management certification.

In her free time, Shakun is an Urban Safarian who loves being outdoors and exploring the city on foot. With her thirst for creativity, she loves attending talks and seminars, having intellectual conversations and constantly learning about industry trends.
