Meredith Mitchell

BCSLA CSLA ISA – Principal, Landscape Architect, Arborist

Meredith Mitchell formed M2 Landscape Architecture in 2010 and is the firm’s Principal Landscape Architect. She is responsible for conceptual design, project management and client /consultant communications. She manages a varied team of nine professionals who all bring different skills to the firm. She has a good relationship and works proficiently with most of the regional authorities in successfully guiding her projects through the approval permitting process.

She was previously an associate at DMG Landscape Architects where she was a key designer and project manager for multi-family residential, commercial, and other projects. She joined DMG in 1997 from the University of Manitoba where she completed a Masters Degree in Landscape Architecture. It was not her first exposure to landscape architecture as she grew up working for her father David Mitchell (Principal of DMG Landscape Architects).

Meredith has several other interests. She is an ISA certified arborist who believes that strategic coordination of landscape architecture and arboriculture is fundamental for the successful completion of a project. Her undergrad Ba, Archaeology, from Simon Fraser University fostered her interest in the preservation of historic landscapes.

In her private life, she is an accomplished jewelry designer with an interest in silversmithing.
